Empire Style: The Hotel de Beauharnais in Paris

Eugène de Beauharnais, Viceroy of Italy & Prince of Venice, was reprimanded by his adoptive father Napoleon for excessive expenditure on this magnificent palace, now the German Ambassador’s residence. Opulence drips from the Egyptian portico, lavish state rooms (with incredible inlaid floors), Turkish boudoirs and the like.
