A slim volume containing two dozen leaves: twelve are photographic studies by the great NM of dead leaves, “at the held, drawn-out stage of their metamorphosis”, the moment when they curl into parchment and are almost crumbling. The other twelve are an autobiographical, associative literary response by EdeW, in which he draws on the work of Proust, Goethe, Benjamin, Frost, Celan and others. The work of both artists is enquiring, acute, delicate, and highly concentrated. A small wonder from a tiny press. (There is also an extremely beautiful and expensive special edition; please enquire for details.)
