A collection of essays on the student revolutions of 1968, from the Sorbonne to Berlin, Czechoslovakia Columbia University and the LSE. Spender’s poems are still in print but most of his other work has disappeared, despite his erstwhile immense cultural importance, his work on themes of social justice, his friendships with Auden, Isherwood, Woolf, Hockney et alia. His life spanned the C20th; he died in 1995. He too was a friend of Mrs Littman. First edition, first printing. Fine condition with good/fair dust jacket. The dust jacket is slightly chipped at the top and bottom edges; it has a 3cm tear at the top and a 2cm tear at the bottom of the back panel; also a chip missing at top of spine.
