Caruncho’s style is about light and line, space and verticality; he snakes rows of vines over an Italian hillside, breaks up a sweep of wheat with a wide avenue of cypress and green strips of grass, encloses stone-edged pools with an airy colonnade; not for cottage gardeners but sublime.
