Blaschka père et fils were from Bohemia but moved to Dresden, where they worked in glass from the mid-1800s to the 1930s, making intricate models of sea anemones, medusas, corals and starfish as well as of plants. These were never intended for public sale but commissioned for scientific purposes. Guido Mocafico is a photographer renowned as a master of still life; his pursuit of these objects and his gentle, indefatigable persuasion of the multiple Cerberuses that guard them from disturbance has taken many years. This will be a stunning book.

We have been accepting orders since spring 2021 and will inform customers when this remarkable volume is finally published. The book will be worth the wait no doubt but the situation is of course frustrating for all.
